Full pub listing with our views
| No image available | The Brittania Large pub to the east of town. Two distinct bar areas - one at the front contains 2 pool tables, and is inevitably a noisier place than the 'back' bar which is a more traditional pub lounge Little Marlow Road , 01628 01628 483852 Visitor reviews |
 | The Duke of Cambridge A decent traditional local pub... but at time of writing (Nov 2005) sadly closed. Queens Road , 01628 01628 484994 Visitor reviews |
 | The Carpenters Arms Traditional pub, making no concessions to modern 'trendiness' in pubs. Serves beer and has a dartboard, like all pubs used to .... 5 Spittal Street , 01628 01628 473649 Visitor reviews |
 | The Chequers Large and very popular bar in the middle of the High Street. 2 different bars, plenty of space, and a small outdoor area facing the street. 51 High Street , 01628 01628 482053 Visitor reviews |
 | Clayton's Lounge A trendy and stylish bar which also serves cocktails and tapas-style food. Has the extra benefit of being one of the few pubs in town with a late 1am licence at weekends.
Can get busy on a Friday and Saturday, when the small bar size means queuing for drinks can be tiresome. 16 Oxford Road , 01628 01628 478620 Visitor reviews |
 | The Coach & horses Small pub, with the bizarre twist of serving Chinese takeaway on the premises, so you can have a beer while you wait, or indeed eat it there. I used to go there every Friday night, but the less said about what I used to get up to on Friday nights 15 years ago the better! Is much quiter now.... West Street , 01628 01628 483013 Visitor reviews |
 | The Cross Keys Recently refurbished pub, serving food all day. Not been to since the mid 2005 changes... we will get round to it sometime.
46 Spittal Street , 01628 01628 482522 Visitor reviews |
 | The George and Dragon Part of the "Out & Out" chain. Pleasant in the summer, when everybody sits on the grass outside. Only problem is sometimes the bar seems to be understaffed, and long waits have been experienced. Also serves Costa branded coffee.
This is perhaps more restarant than a pub, with an overwhelmingly large variety on food in offer. Can cope with large groups. The Causeway , 01628 01628 483887 Visitor reviews |
 | The Hand and Flowers Well.... this quite recent addition to the Marlow food scene has it's plaudits:
- Owner Tom Kerridge had a Michelin star at his previous establishment, and has now been awarded one for the Hand and Flowers.
- Which? Good Food Guide 2006 lists them as Best Newcomer in Buckinghamshire
- Winner of the Best Fish and Chips award from Restaurant magazine
The atmosphere is very cosy - all low beams and candles.
The food was indeed simply delicious - the foie gras on toasted brioche starter lives long in the memory.
HOWEVER- our first and only visit was marred by poor service - well over an hours wait between finishing the main course and getting our dessert.... we were given the excuse that they were 'busy', but thats hardly a proper excuse of course. An offer of some drinks to tide us over would have been welcome, but never came. A shame that our lingering memory of the meal is this aspect rather than the food. West Street , 01628 01628 482277 Visitor reviews |
 | The Hare and Hounds Well known for it's food, particularly popular on Sundays when booking is often required for the restaurant section. A bit too far out of town for us to have reached during a drinking session - if it's any good, please tell us! (or perhaps if anyone is passing that way they can give us a lift?) Henley Road , 01628 01628 483343 Visitor reviews |
 | The Hogs Head A spacious pub, attracting a youngish crowd, with a good selection of beers and serving food all day.
82-84 High Street , 01628 01628 478737 Visitor reviews |
 | Marlow Donkey Large pub, though the fact it is a walk from the High Street means it attracts less of the crowds. Has a separate dining area, and is a popular place for weekday lunches as a result of the nearby industrial estate.
Has a pub quiz (well, obviously a 'pub' quiz- it being a pub and all) on Thursdays.. we tried it out in Sep 05 and came second. Some of the team names were a bit 'blue', so perhaps dont take your gran (or turn off her hearing aid when the results are announced). Station Road , 01628 01628 482022 Visitor reviews |
 | The Plough Smaller but nonetheless quite busy pub. Attracts a more local clientele than the noisier town centre pubs, and is also the ideal pre-footie pub if your going to watch Marlow FC.
3 Little Marlow Road , 01628 01628 482857 Visitor reviews |
 | The Prince of Wales Has a very small front bar, and a larger area out the back where food is served. In fact, because the bar is so small it gives the impression of being busy when there are in fact only a few punters. Serves (bizarely for a pub) Thai food, which can also be taken away.
Mill Road , 01628 01628 482970 Visitor reviews |
| No image available | R:Home I'm losing track with what this place is... The Crown, The Market, R:Home with the classy restarant, then without... now with perhpas heading back to what the original Crown was like? I'm very confused! Market Square , 01628 Visitor reviews |
 | The Royal Oak Considerably enlarged and refurbished in recent years. Most of interior is now a restaurant, where the food is of a very high quality. Decent sized Garden with a 'Petanque' area. My mum was there with some friends who made a reference to the 'Boules' outside, so she became concerned about being savaged by a 'bull' when she left. I'm not joshing. (I suppose it's not that funny so you probably didnt think I was) West Street , 01628 01628 488611 Visitor reviews |
 | The Ship Popular pub with a cosy & tradional wooden beamed front bar, a newer bar out the back and a decent beer garden. The building itself dates from the 16th century. West Street , 01628 01628 484360 Visitor reviews |
| No image available | The Three Horseshoes Large conservatory area serving food, and childrens' play area Wycombe Road , 01628 01628 483109 Visitor reviews |
 | The Two Brewers A historic old pub, dating from 1755. Well known for it's food, which is somewhat more sophisticated than your typical "pub grub". St Peter Street , 01628 01628 484140 Visitor reviews |
